Module features

In high-precision absolute positioning applications, incremental encoders risk position loss during power cycles, while SSI absolute encoders—though superior—are often hindered by complex configuration and poor interoperability.

The CT-5122 SSI Encoder Input Module from Sichuan Odot Automation solves this challenge with a robust, flexible design. Supporting two independent SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) absolute encoder channels, it operates at up to 2 MHz clock frequency, enabling rapid acquisition of single-turn or multi-turn absolute position data—ideal for CNC machine tool spindles, robotic joints, wind turbine pitch control, and precision rotary tables where position integrity is critical.

The module offers full protocol customization: users can configure data bit length, start/end bit positions, and reading interval time to seamlessly integrate diverse SSI encoders. Each channel includes one digital input (5V/24V compatible), one 5V digital output, and features magnetic isolation between field signals and the internal bus for exceptional noise immunity. Sixteen LED indicators provide real-time visibility of communication status, power, and channel activity, streamlining commissioning and maintenance.
