Module Description

In large control cabinets or distributed I/O systems, users often face challenges due to physical backplane length limitations—forcing long field wiring that introduces noise, increases failure rates, and complicates installation.

The CT-5711 Fieldbus Extended Master Module from Sichuan Odot Automation offers a simple, cost-effective solution. Acting as a transparent extension node for the high-speed redundant backplane bus, it carries no process data and requires no configuration parameters, enabling I/O modules to be placed closer to field devices—reducing sensor/actuator cable lengths and improving signal integrity.

The extension uses a 5-core shielded cable, with IBS+ and IBS- on a twisted pair and a dedicated PE wire for reliable grounding, supporting extension distances up to 10 meters. This makes it ideal for cabinet partitioning, multi-cabinet interconnection, or space-constrained installations in smart production lines, water treatment plants, packaging machinery, and energy monitoring systems.

As a lightweight expansion component of the ODOT open automation platform, the CT-5711 delivers “zero configuration, low latency, and high reliability”—enhancing system scalability and engineering flexibility without added complexity.
